Some time ago I wrote a plug-in for Autodesk Maya which enables artists and animators to create flocking behaviour in real-time using Maya’s dynamics and particle system.
It allows you to very rapidly create realistic animations of flocking creatures like birds and fish and is incredibly simple to use and get started with.
I’ve had loads of interest in the plug-in and so I’ve finally pulled my finger out and published it both on my website and on the Autodesk Exchange store:
